Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
  • ½ cup softened butter (for cookie dough)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for cookie dough)
  • ¼ cup white sugar (for cookie dough)
  • 1 egg (for cookie dough)
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda (for cookie dough)
  • A pinch of salt (for cookie dough)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • Chocolate spread

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownie batter by mixing together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar together before adding eggs and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients into a thick batter and spread it in the bottom of a baking pan.
  2. For the cookie dough, beat softened butter with both sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Spread chocolate spread over the brownie base and layer the cookie dough on top. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30–35 minutes until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before cutting.
