  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, mozzarella, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Add the beaten egg and milk; stir until a thick dough forms. Fold in parsley if desired.
  3. Scoop out walnut-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
  4. Coat each ball in breadcrumbs and place on a tray. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 175°C (350°F).
  6. Fry the cheese balls in batches for about 2–3 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
