  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 113 grams sour cream
  • Canola oil (for frying)
  • 350 grams powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons corn syrup (for glaze)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (for glaze)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • ⅓ cup hot water (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat butter and sugar until sandy; add egg yolks and mix until light.
  3. Gradually combine dry ingredients with sour cream until smooth yet slightly sticky.
  4. Chill the dough for one hour.
  5. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into doughnut shapes; refrigerate again.
  6. Heat oil to 325°F and fry doughnuts until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, corn syrup, salt, vanilla extract, and hot water until smooth.
