Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream together 1 cup of softened butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, and ¾ cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently, and fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown.
