- Cream together 1 cup of softened butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, and ¾ cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently, and fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare the buttercream frosting by mixing 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar, ½ cup of softened butter, 1-2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Spread the frosting generously on top and around the sides of the cooled cake.

Notes
Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for the best texture. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting the buttercream.
