Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the lean ground beef, breaking it apart until fully cooked, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread half the marinara sauce on the bottom of the slow cooker. Add half of the uncooked bowtie pasta, remaining marinara, half the water, and half of the cooked ground beef. Spread the cheese mixture on top.
  4. Add the second half of the uncooked bowtie pasta, covering with remaining marinara sauce and water, followed by the last layer of ground beef. Ensure all noodles are submerged.
  5. Secure the lid and set the slow cooker to low for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  6. After 2.5 hours, test the pasta for tenderness. If not yet soft, cover and let it cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Once pasta is tender, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Cover and cook for an additional 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
