  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion chopped; yellow or white
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms sliced; fresh or canned
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup homemade is best
  • ½ cup Sour Cream or Heavy Cream your choice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning or dried thyme
  • to taste Salt and Pepper for seasoning
  • 3 cups Cooked Pasta or Rice your choice
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese Cheddar, Mozzarella, or a blend
  • to taste Fresh Parsley optional for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat for 7-10 minutes.
  3. Sauté chopped onion in the skillet for 3-4 minutes, then add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for 5-6 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, ½ cup of sour cream or heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine the beef mixture with 3 cups of cooked pasta or rice, then transfer to the baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle your choice of shredded cheese over the top of the casserole.
  7. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
