Ingredients
  

For the Ghost Topping
  • 2 pounds Potatoes can use instant potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons Butter adds creaminess
  • 1/2 cup Milk substitute with cream or non-dairy milk if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder for flavor
  • to taste Salt & Pepper for seasoning
For the Filling
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey or lentils
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste for depth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce as an alternative
  • 2 cups Vegetables (mixed) frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup Broth use vegetable broth for vegetarian option
  • to taste Salt & Pepper for seasoning
For the Ghost Decoration
  • to taste Peppercorns for ghost eyes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and chop potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for 15 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Mash drained potatoes with butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Allow to cool.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef, cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce, add vegetables and broth. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Assembly & Baking
  1. Spoon beef mixture into a greased baking dish. Pipe ghost shapes with mashed potatoes on top.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
