  • 2 cups Whipped Cream Heavy cream or non-dairy alternative
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste

  • 2 cups Cherries Fresh, canned, or frozen
For the Garnish
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Shavings Use dark chocolate or other types as preferred

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the chocolate cake according to package or recipe instructions, then cool completely.
  2. In a chilled bowl, combine heavy cream and sugar, then whip to stiff peaks for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Cut the cooled chocolate cake into 1-inch cubes.
  4. Layer the trifle starting with cake cubes, then cherries, followed by whipped cream. Repeat layers until the dish is full, finishing with whipped cream.
  5. Garnish with chocolate shavings on top of whipped cream.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
