Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x5 inch aluminum loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt. Whisk until blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and almond extract until smooth.
  4. Gently pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Fold in colorful sprinkles.
  5. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. It's ready when golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for 1-2 hours.
  7. While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, buttermilk, and corn syrup until pourable. Adjust consistency if needed.
  8. Once cooled, pour the glaze over the bread and top with nonpareils for decoration. Slice and enjoy!
