Preparation Steps
  1. Wash and dry 1 pound of fresh strawberries, then slice into thin rounds. Reserve 8 slices for garnishing later.
  2. Combine the remaining sliced strawberries with 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar and let them macerate for 15 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whip together 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  4. Slice your chosen cake (3/4-inch cubes) for the dessert, ensuring to prepare enough to fill the 8 cups.
  5. Layer half of the macerated strawberry mixture into the bottom of each of the 8 plastic cups.
  6. Add 4-5 cubes of cake on top of the strawberry layer in each cup.
  7. Top with 3 tablespoons of whipped cream over the cake layer in each cup.
  8. Add another layer of strawberries on top of the whipped cream in each cup, followed by another layer of cake cubes.
  9. Finish each cup with 2 tablespoons of whipped cream and garnish with reserved strawberry slices.
  10. Serve immediately or chill for up to three hours before serving.
