Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water, add egg noodles, and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season the Beef: Add Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and drained diced tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until hot.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Sauce: Mix cream of mushroom soup and sour cream in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Layer half of the noodles, beef mixture, creamy sauce, and 3/4 cup cheddar in a greased baking dish. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake the Casserole: Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Let rest for 5 minutes and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
