  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Other melting cheeses can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Vegetable oil can be a substitute
For the Garnish
  • ¼ cup Green Onions Chives or parsley can be used

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound of cubed steak, browning on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In your crockpot, create a base layer by adding half of the diced potatoes. Top with half of the browned steak, followed by bacon bits and cheddar cheese.
  3. Continue layering with the remaining potatoes, steak, bacon, and cheddar cheese.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of sour cream, ½ cup of milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients in the crockpot.
  5. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until steak and potatoes are tender.
  6. Once cooking is completed, sprinkle sliced green onions over the top before serving.
