  • 1 teaspoon Thyme Can swap with dried oregano or Italian seasoning.

For the Dumplings
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Use gluten-free flour if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder Ensure dumplings puff up beautifully.
  • 1 cup Milk Plant-based milk works for dairy-free.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Margarine or dairy-free alternatives can be substituted.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Optional but recommended for garnish.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Brown the Ground Beef by cooking it in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté Aromatics by adding the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Flavor the Base by stirring in Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Then sprinkle flour over the mixture, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Create the Gravy by gradually pouring beef broth while stirring. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Prepare the Dumpling Dough by whisking together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter and stir in milk until a dough forms.
  6. Cook the Dumplings by dropping spoonfuls of dough onto the beef mixture. Cover and steam for about 15 minutes.
  7. Serve and Garnish by removing from heat and sprinkling with fresh parsley before serving.
