Step‐by‐Step Instructions
  1. Cook Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside. Toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Meat Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil, add ground beef and sauté until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in marinara, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning, simmer for 10 minutes, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, and half of the Parmesan until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers and finish with noodles, remaining sauce, and cheeses on top.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. Rest and Garnish: Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
