Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Italian Baked Homemade Lasagna
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage with diced onion. Sauté until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. To the skillet, add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, red wine, basil, sugar, and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 45 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  6. Cook the lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and drizzle with olive oil.
  7. In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 25 minutes.
