  • 1 pound Ribeye Steak Thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Minced Ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Wine Can substitute with white wine
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Grated Apple Optional
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
For the Sandwich Assembly
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers (Red & Yellow) Sliced
  • 4 slices Bread (e.g., Tiger Bread)
  • 2 tablespoons Salted Butter For toasting
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion Sliced
  • 1 jalapeño Jalapenos Sliced, adjust for spice
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onions (Scallions) For garnish
For the Garlic Mayo
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Chili Sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the ribeye steak in the freezer for about 30 minutes until firm but not frozen solid. Slice thinly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and add the sliced steak. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet, add vegetable oil, and cook the marinated steak for about 4-5 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Using the same skillet, add more vegetable oil and sauté bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Assemble sandwiches by buttering one side of each slice of bread, layering sautéed peppers, steak, cheese, onion, and jalapeños.
  6. Cook the assembled sandwiches in the skillet over low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  7. Prepare garlic mayo by mixing mayonnaise and sweet chili sauce, and drizzle it over the sandwiches before serving.
