Preparation
- Place the ribeye steak in the freezer for about 30 minutes until firm but not frozen solid. Slice thinly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and add the sliced steak. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet, add vegetable oil, and cook the marinated steak for about 4-5 minutes until caramelized.
- Using the same skillet, add more vegetable oil and sauté bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
- Assemble sandwiches by buttering one side of each slice of bread, layering sautéed peppers, steak, cheese, onion, and jalapeños.
- Cook the assembled sandwiches in the skillet over low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Prepare garlic mayo by mixing mayonnaise and sweet chili sauce, and drizzle it over the sandwiches before serving.
