Hot Honey Mix
  • 1 cup Liquid Honey Can substitute with maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Hot Sauce e.g. Frank’s Red Hot or Valentina
  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes Adjust to your heat preference
Bites
  • 24 pieces Frozen Crispy Chicken Nuggets Pre-cooked, can substitute with fresh chicken
  • 6 pieces Frozen Waffles Can use gluten-free waffles
  • 2 tbsp Butter For toasting the waffles
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Chives Optionally replace with green onions

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place frozen chicken pieces on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes to prepare the hot honey.
  4. Toast the frozen waffles until golden and slightly crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Cut each toasted waffle into four equal pieces to form bases for the bites.
  6. Assemble the bites by stacking a waffle piece, a crispy chicken piece, and securing with a toothpick.
  7. Drizzle the hot honey over each bite and garnish with chopped chives.
