Preparation
  1. Cut day-old brioche or challah bread into 1-inch cubes and spread them onto a baking sheet.

  3. Gently add the bread cubes into the custard mixture, allowing them to soak for about 2 minutes.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add unsalted butter until melted. Place the soaked bread cubes into the skillet, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine mixed berries, maple syrup, and lemon juice. Simmer for approximately 4-5 minutes until the berries burst and the sauce thickens.
  6. Arrange the cooked Mini French Toast Bites on a platter, drizzle the warm berry compote over them, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
