Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan by applying nonstick spray or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the mashed ripe bananas and mix until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Then gently fold this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. If using, fold in chopped pecans into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes if using an 8x8 pan or 35-40 minutes for a 9x9 pan until a toothpick comes out clean.
