Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.

  3. Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  6. Divide the batter among the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  8. Beat butter for buttercream until creamy, then add powdered sugar gradually.
  9. Tint portions of buttercream with food coloring to create ombre shades.
  10. Assemble cake layers with buttercream in between each layer, alternating shades.
  11. Smooth the outer buttercream and decorate with edible flowers.
