Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 3–5 minutes.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place one slice of sourdough bread butter-side down in the skillet, add Dijon mustard if using, layer with roast beef and cheese.
- Top with another slice of sourdough bread butter-side up and press down gently.
- Cook for about 3–5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and cheese begins to melt.
- Flip the sandwich and cook for another 3–5 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then cut in half to serve.
