  • 3 slices White Bread Crusts removed
  • 1/2 cup Milk Can substitute with cold water
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef Aim for 85/15 fat content
  • 1/2 lb Ground Pork Can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Shredded preferred
  • 1 large Egg Binds mixture
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced, can roast for depth
  • 1/4 cup Parsley Chopped, can substitute other herbs
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground preferred
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Used for sautéing
Optional Cooking Sauce
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce For serving with meatballs
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Can sprinkle on top after cooking

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare panade by soaking diced white bread in milk or cold water for 5 minutes, then mash until smooth.
  2. Mix soaked bread with lean ground beef, ground pork, shredded parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into 1.5-inch diameter meatballs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Cook meatballs by sautéing in olive oil for 6-8 minutes until golden brown or bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 20-23 minutes.
  5. Let the meatballs cool slightly, then serve with marinara sauce, in subs, or as appetizers.
