- In a small bowl, mix together mayo, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
- Heat butter in a skillet; add sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 15–20 minutes.
- Divide ground beef into four portions and shape into thin patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Cook patties in the skillet for 3–4 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
- Butter one side of each slice of rye bread and layer with cheese, patty, onions, and more cheese.
- Grill sandwiches in the skillet for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, allow to rest for a minute, then slice and serve with secret sauce.
