Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a vigorous boil. Add a pinch of salt, then gradually whisk in 1 cup of grits. Lower heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese. Mix until cheese melts completely.
  3. In a large skillet, add 4 slices of chopped bacon. Fry until crispy and golden-brown, about 5-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add 1 diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for another minute.
  5. Introduce 1 pound of large shrimp along with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Remove skillet from heat. Serve the creamy grits topped with the shrimp mixture and sprinkle with crispy bacon and parsley.
