Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Agave syrup can be used as a substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
For the Skewers
  • 1 pound Chicken Breast Can substitute with chicken thighs
  • 6 pieces Wooden or Metal Skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes

Equipment

  • grill
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • skewers

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Whisk vigorously until the honey is fully dissolved, resulting in a smooth marinade. Set aside some of the marinade for a basting sauce later on.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes, then add them to the prepared marinade. Toss the chicken pieces gently to ensure every piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Once marinated, preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread the pieces onto wooden or metal skewers.
  4. Preheat your grill or broiler for about 10 minutes until it reaches a consistent medium-high temperature.
  5. Carefully place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with reserved marinade halfway through.
  6. Once cooked through, remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
