Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Trim the fat cap of the brisket, leaving about a ¼-inch layer.
- In a mixing bowl, combine dried thyme, smoked paprika, black pepper, kosher salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin. Mix thoroughly to create the spice rub.
- Apply the spice rub generously on all sides of the brisket.
- Place the brisket in a baking pan, fat side up. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce.
- Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil tightly and roast in the preheated oven for the first 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, flip the brisket over, reseal the pan with foil, and continue roasting for another 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Once tender, remove the brisket and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
