  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or substitute soy sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce use your favorite variety

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin omit for simpler flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Trim the fat cap of the brisket, leaving about a ¼-inch layer.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine dried thyme, smoked paprika, black pepper, kosher salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin. Mix thoroughly to create the spice rub.
  3. Apply the spice rub generously on all sides of the brisket.
  4. Place the brisket in a baking pan, fat side up. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce.
  5. Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil tightly and roast in the preheated oven for the first 2 hours.
  6. After 2 hours, flip the brisket over, reseal the pan with foil, and continue roasting for another 1.5 to 2 hours.
  7. Once tender, remove the brisket and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
