Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Add diced onions and minced garlic into the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in your tomato sauce along with half the salt, pepper, and dried herbs. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, remaining salt, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth.
  6. Start layering in your baking dish: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  7. Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are bubbling and cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
