  • 1 cup Chopped Onions Use shallots for subtler taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used instead
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Skip if needed
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Crumble firm tofu in a large mixing bowl, and add plant-based milk, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and combined.
  3. Fold in diced bell peppers and chopped onions into the tofu mixture for added color and flavor.
  4. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread half of the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom.
  5. Pour the creamy tofu and vegetable mixture over the first layer of tater tots and spread evenly.
  6. Top with remaining tater tots, pressing down gently for adhesion.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped fresh herbs before serving.
