- Boil 3 cups of water in a large saucepan over high heat until rolling.
- Add 2 cups of pearl couscous, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tbsp olive oil to the boiling water. Stir to prevent sticking.
- Cover the saucepan and reduce heat to low. Let the couscous simmer for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, drain any excess water, then return couscous to low heat and stir in 3 tbsp butter and juice of 2 lemons.
- Once the butter is melted, fold in the minced basil.
- Serve warm as a side dish for grilled chicken or seafood.
